The Dana White’s Contender Series tournament is a huge opportunity for Matej Peñaz. The 25-year-old fighter hasn’t been in the MMA world for long.
He made his professional MMA debut in the fall of 2020, and now has six fights under his belt, winning all of them and only finishing the last one on points.
So now “Money” will fight for a UFC contract. The opponent hasn’t been officially announced yet, but Money himself knows who it could be.
In an interview with iSport, he has now described his feelings. “I’m motivated and excited about it. It’s what I wanted. I can get to the UFC in a relatively quick way. So for now, I’m feeling mostly enthusiasm.
It’s definitely a big step, so there will be some nervousness afterwards. But other than that, it’s what I enjoy so much about MMA in general. Itcan get me further and push my limits,” he said.
According to him, the fight should be on August 30, so Peñaz can enjoy the rest he planned after the Oktagon 32 tournament in Ostrava.
