Sparta earned more than Slavia in Europe! Czech football needs to participate in the Champions League
Czech teams have had a very specific season in European football. A bitter start was saved by the three participants in the main groups and in the end the initial frustration turned into a relatively solid result. So how much have Czech teams collected in this year’s cup season?

In the final result, it may look like the clear top earner in UEFA competitions must have been Prague Slavia, but that is not entirely the case. Without a share of the marketpool, it was rival Sparta who earned the most.
It was the only Czech team to qualify for the Europa League group stage. This earned it far more interesting rewards than the white and reds were looking forward to in the Europa League.
Jablonec, the North Bohemian club that is fighting for salvation in the domestic competition, can also boast an interesting return of over CZK 100 million. Petr Rada’s charges, however, did not disgrace themselves in Europe, they played until the last round to qualify for the spring part of the ECL.
A disappointing result in this year’s cup season was scored by FC Viktoria Plzeň, who were very close to qualifying for the performance-poor EKL, but their path to the basic group was closed by Bulgarian CSKA Sofia.
1. FC Slovácko also earned a few million, which appeared in the European Cup for the first time in its club history.
Czech football needs a team to participate in the millionaire Champions League again next season, where the rewards are in a different dimension. Teams take a whopping 381.5 million CZK for participation in the regular group.
