The Czech goalkeeper will not remember Sunday’s Champions League playoff match between Lyon and PSG in the best way. She gave her opponents an important goal with her huge mistake, thanks to which Lyon won 3:2.

The Champions League double-header between Lyon and PSG promises to be a very interesting spectacle. The French teams are among the best clubs in the world, which could make for an attractive match.

This was also confirmed by the first match between the two sides, which Lyon won 3:2. Unfortunately, the Czech goalkeeper Barbora Votíková also contributed to this. Her mistake gave Lyon a goal, which increased the score to 3:1.

Everything came together in the 50th minute when Catarina Macariova headed the ball into the penalty area, but unfortunately the ball got away from her. After a miscommunication between Votkova and Dudekova, the ball surprisingly found its way into the net.

This time Votíková is unwittingly the star of the internet. Fans are amused by the lack of communication between the goalkeeper and the PSG stopper, which ultimately looks comical, and then by Votíková’s senseless stopping of the ball with her foot in front of the goal line, which allowed Macari to get the ball into the net.

But of course Polish stopper Dudek is also to blame. She tried so hard to protect Votíková from the oncoming Macariová that she herself made it impossible for her goalkeeper to kick the ball away easily.

The PSG players can make up for their hesitation on April 30, when they will face a rematch with Lyon. However, they will have to make up for the one-goal loss.
