Rangers will face a Europa League quarter-final rematch on Thursday at home to Braga. The Portuguese side won their opening game 1-0, but there’s going to be hell to pay at Ibrox Park. What to expect from the game?
Rangers are not in good form, having won only two of their last five games. They reached the Europa League quarter-finals via Dortmund and Crvena Zvezda Belgrade, and finished second in a group with Lyon Sparta and Brondby.
Braga, on the other hand, have done well, winning their last four games, also beating Benfica. It was among the top eight teams in the competition, coming from second place in a group with CZ Belgrade, Midtjylland and Ludogorets, before knocking out Sherif Tiraspol and Monaco.
The home side will rely on Alfredo Morelos, the Colombian striker has scored nineteen times and assisted eight goals so far. Aaron Ramsey has also been performing well since his arrival from Juventus.
Galen is doing well for Braga, the Brazilian winger has scored eleven goals and assisted three. Long-time mainstay and team captain Ricardo Horta has made nineteen appearances and added ten goal assists.
The Rangers seem to be running out of power where they have the most, on offense. Last year’s Scottish champions have scored more than one goal in only two of their last five games.
And it will be really tough against Braga, who have only scored more than one goal once in their last eleven games and kept a clean sheet six times.
Given the strength of the home environment at Ibrox Park, I think Rangers will win.
