Who will play against Feyenoord? Our decision will also be influenced by certain interplay, says Trpišovský
Slavia have an important match against Feyenoord, but the fans are also solving the goalkeeping question, because both Aleš Mandous and Ondřej Kolář made mistakes in Europe. How does coach Jindřich Trpišovský see this position?
Slavia have an important match against Feyenoord, but the fans are also solving the goalkeeping question, because both Aleš Mandous and Ondřej Kolář made mistakes in Europe. How does coach Jindřich Trpišovský see this position?
The goalkeeping position is very strong at Slavia. After Ondřej Kolář lost his form at the beginning of the season, Aleš Mandous was given a chance, and he gave a good performance and didn’t let his former mainstay into the goal.
However, at the beginning of spring Kolář started to get more chances and even more after Mandous failed in the match against Austrian Linz, which Slavia lost 3:4 due to a late flurry.
After that Kolář played two league games and went into a duel with Feyenoord. And this match will definitely not rank among the good ones, as he has no clear conscience for both the first goal and the third one.
Fans are wondering who will be the goalkeeper today. The coach has answered this question rather evasively, although the answer is quite clear.
“We are still clear. Our decision will also be influenced by certain interplay that the players will have in front of the goalkeeper. We are taking into account that everyone should be comfortable, that the experience from difficult matches and from the past should come together.
The synergy of everyone will be terribly important, especially regarding the balls behind the defence that Feyenoord will use on Thursday. It is possible that they will leave one winger up top, we have to keep an eye on that,” said coach Jindřich Trpišovský at the press conference.
According to these words, Kolář will have to catch better than last week if Slavie wants to advance to the semifinals and be three games away from the dream trophy.
