Martina Jindrova to compete for $1 million after successful PFL debut

Martina Jindrová had a successful debut in the American MMA organization Professional Fighters League (PFL) and after a three-round fight she will fight for one million US dollars.

Recently we informed you that Viktor Peshta has moved from the biggest domestic organization Oktagon to the “higher league” in the form of the American organization PFL. However, he is not the only Czech representative in this organization.

On Friday, the PFL Challenger Series 3 gala took place in Orlando, which can be seen as a “prequel” to the pyramid, where the prize of one million US dollars will be played. The tournament featured eight fighters in the lightweight division, including Czech fighter Martina Jindrova.

Jindrova recorded the performance of the night in her PFL debut

Jindrová took on Portuguese fighter Jacqueline Cavalcanti and won on points after a three-round battle. Although she was one of the four winners of the night, her place in the final pyramid was not assured. Only two of the four fighters were up for contracts and it was up to the fans and a stellar panel of judges to decide which one would get it.

Since the fans chose Mischelle Montague, that left only one spot. While the jury of Tyron Woodley, Viktor Belfort and Jarvis Landry disagreed on the name, they still named the Czech after a majority decision. She also won the award for the performance of the evening, which is of course a huge success.

The Czech has won a contract with the PFL and will compete for $1 million

Jindrova looked really on form in the match and nearly finished her opponent in the second round. But the tenacious Portuguese woman withstood Jindrova’s onslaught and the match went to the judges on points.

“I tried to stop her in the second round,” she reacted to the fight in an octagon interview, which you can see on the PFL YouTube channel. “But then I was a bit tired, so the third round was quite hard for me,” she confirmed the difficulty of the fight.

“But I felt like a winner and I’m very happy for that,” she said after the judges’ scoring decision. “I hope people will vote for me because I think I’m just the best,” added Jindrova, who wore a yellow and blue flag in support of Ukraine’s war against Russia.

In the end, the fans chose a different name, but the jury fortunately saw the Czech fighter’s qualities.

Martina Jindrova has thus won a contract with a successful organization and will represent our country in MMA in the United States.
