A team loaded with stars, million dollar contracts, possibly the greatest attacking individuals in the world = guaranteed success? Absolutely not, quite the opposite. The Qatari owners have learned that, if they still believed by now that the way of money and more money would get them to the top.
PSG were leading 2-0 against Real Madrid, with half time left, they could have taken the game, only to collapse, Benzema’s hat-trick and the Parisians left Madrid crying. And some of them almost with a scratch.
According to the Spanish media, there was an altercation between Neymar and Gigi Donnarumma. It all started when the Brazilian started to blame the goalkeeper for his mistake, which culminated in Benzema’s goal. The Italian goalkeeper didn’t keep quiet and instead blamed Neymar for his loss of the ball, which led to Los Blancos’ second goal.
However, the argument did not stop there and the players were already grappling with each other until teammates had to intervene to prevent a brawl. However, that was not the only outlet for the Parisians in the bowels of the Santiago Bernabéu.
Indeed, according to the official UEFA record, president Nasser Al-Khelaifi tried to storm the referee’s booth, banging on the door and shouting that it was a foul on Donnarumma. The referees blocked the door, he said, and he managed to break the referee’s flag in anger.
A member of the Real Madrid management team was filming the whole situation and when Al-Khelaifi noticed, he yelled at him that he was going to kill him. He then had his phone snatched from his hand and demanded the video be deleted. UEFA has officially asked Real Madrid to release these images.
