The Champions League semi-finals continue with more matches, including Villarreal vs Juventus. The match promises to be an interesting spectacle, but who will be happy with the victory in the end?

Villarreal set the tone for this important match with a big league win 4-1 against Granada. The Spanish club is in great form at the moment, having managed a draw with Real Madrid before their last game, and only tasted the bitterness of defeat in their last five games after their match against Elche.

Villarreal is also a great offensive force. In 25 league games, the Spanish team has managed to score 42 goals. In comparison, this is more goals than second-placed Sevilla have scored or as many goals as Barcelona have scored.

Juventus, on the other hand, had to accept the loss of points in their last league game after a 1-1 draw with Torino. The Turin team is one of the teams that doesn’t lose, however, it is being dragged down in the Serie A table by very frequent draws.

Compared to Villarreal, Juventus are not such a feared attacking club anymore. It has scored 38 goals in 26 matches, a really modest number by the standards of the Italian league, and the Old Lady itself. On the minimum number of occasions Juventus have scored more than two goals in a match.

As far as going through the Champions League is concerned, Villarreal qualified for the eight-finals by finishing second in the group. They finished just one point behind Manchester United, whom they could not find a recipe in either of their two matches. Despite this, the Spanish side advanced to the next stage with ease.

Juventus, on the other hand, dominated their group ahead of second-placed Chelsea. As is their custom, the matches were more modest in terms of goals. The only exception was a 4: 2 win over Zenit, but most often the Old Lady won by a meagre 1: 0.

As this is the first of a double-header, no goal shootout is expected. Add to that Juventus’ weak offensive, the match should see a maximum of two goals.
