There was a media report last September that legendary fighter Jon Jones lost his biggest fight to alcohol and was arrested again on the night he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame, the world’s largest MMA organization. The Las Vegas Review-Journal obtained video of the arrest.

Jones was arrested at the fighter’s induction into the UFC Hall of Fame

Jon Jones was arrested after being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame due to his years-long career during which he became a living legend throughout the sport. The 34-year-old Jones became the youngest ever UFC champion at the age of 23 and is rightly considered by many to be the most talented MMA fighter of all time. However, his career has been plagued by a number of issues that have affected both his personal and professional life through doping findings.

Jones was arrested on the aforementioned night on suspicion of domestic violence after security at Caesars Palace, where he was staying, noticed his fiancée Jessie Moses with bloody lips and blood on her clothes. Officers then found the fighter near the subway and detained him.

A police video camera obtained by the Review-Journal shows the former UFC welterweight champion being arrested. The video shows a drunk Jones in a position where he is lying handcuffed on the hood of a police car, and it’s not a pretty sight for a fan of the UFC legend.

The video shows a devastated Jones acting very hateful towards the police officers. “You f**king moron, I hate you,” screams a distraught Jones at the officers present. At one point, Jones appears to reach an emotional breaking point as he shouts the words about ending his life. “Come on, hurt me, kill me,” the broken warrior wails.

The famous wrestler then even resorts to racial slurs. “A black man can’t drink? I was elected to the Hall of Fame and this is what I got,” he taunted the police in a desperate manner. Moments later, Jones hit his head on the hood of a police car. You can watch the full video below.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t his first run-in with the DUI law. His endless problems resulted in him being kicked out of the gym by his coach. Jones later regretted his actions on his Instagram account and vowed to stop drinking.

Will we see Jones in the octagon again?

Clearly he feels so frustrated himself with his alcohol problem and hopefully we’ll see him back where he’s best. The last time we saw the champion with the most title defenses and other records in the Octagon was in February 2020 against Dominick Reyes. He was knocked out in his last fight by Moravian fighter Jiri Prochazka.

As we recently informed you, Jones was scheduled to train with Procházka at Henry Cejudo’s gym, where he has been training on and off since being fired from his home gym. However, we probably won’t see a confrontation with the Moravian samurai in the octagon.

Jones announced some time ago that he is heading to the heavyweight division. But unfortunately for MMA fans, it’s been all talk so far. Time will tell when and if we will see the former champion back in the cage.
