Big reinforcements for the Rossoneri? AC Milan lures Lille superstar! Who else could come?
An unambiguous attack for the title – this is also how one could interpret the current actions of AC Milan, who are very active in the transfer market. The Rossoneri have four players on their list that they are seriously interested in. Among them are Marco Asensio from Real Madrid or the Lille superstar.

The current Serie A leader has announced a very clear attack for the title and is leaving nothing to chance. The Rossoneri have four players on their transfer list who should help the Milanese side to achieve their desired goal.
The first name is Renato Sanches, who currently plays for French side Lille. The latest information says that the 24-year-old midfielder was one step away from signing a contract. However, it now looks like Lille have postponed the transfer negotiations until the summer transfer window.
Representatives of the Italian outfit are currently looking around for a replacement for Franck Kessie, who will most likely leave AC Milan. Sanches would thus be not only a replacement, but an absolutely great reinforcement.
Italian site Calciomercato also reports that a transfer fee has already been set, which should be between €18 and €20 million. Moreover, Sanches has already turned down several contract extension offers. So, if nothing surprising happens, the Lisbon native will soon be donning the AC Milan jersey.
Milan also join Arsenal and Liverpool in the battle for Marco Asensio. The 26-year-old winger is under contract at the royal club until June 2023, but the proposal of a new contract did not convince him to stay.
The offer from both Premier League clubs exceeds that of the Madrid outfit by almost 50%, with Arsenal and Liverpool offering him over seven million euros a year. However, no concrete offer has yet landed on Asensio’s desk from AC, but the club’s management have already expressed their interest.
However, AC Milan’s management have two other players in their sights, which are Steven Bergwijn and Hugo Ekitike.
The former joined Tottenham in January 2020 and his future at the club is very much uncertain. The second-mentioned player is currently based in Reims, France, and has already scored nine goals in twenty-one league games.
Based on the latest speculations, Spurs are willing to sell Bergwijn to Milan for around 20 to 25 million euros, while his contract in England expires at the end of June 2025. Ekitike, on the other hand, recently rejected an offer from Newcastle United, whereupon the Italian club is the closest to acquiring him.
But whether AC will be able to bring someone in before the end of the current season is a big question. However, as we wrote above, the Rossoneri are currently doing everything they can. However, we will have to wait for official information or confirmation of any of the transfers.
