Hertha vs. Bochum: Preview and betting tips

Vladimir Darida has an important match on Friday in the fight for salvation, he will be playing for Hertha against Bochum. The newcomer to the top German competition is better off in the table, but a win for the favourite from the capital could change that.

Hertha have only one draw in the last three league rounds and are closer to the last three. They are just three points behind barrage team Augsburg, four points behind the penultimate place.

Bochum is surprisingly better off, the Bundesliga newcomer is in eleventh place. Even with four points from the last three rounds, it has a comfortable five-point cushion on sixteenth place.

Winger Marco Richter is performing well for Hertha and has already scored five Bundesliga goals, including one assist. Vladimir Darida continues to play an important role in the team, scoring once from midfield and assisting on four goals.

Bochum rely on their experienced goal scorer, Sebastian Polter has scored six league goals. Left-footed offensive midfielder Gerrit Holtmann boasts three goals and three assists.

Although Hertha scores quite a few goals, they are hampered by a dysfunctional defence. Only the last team in the table, Fürth, has scored more goals than Hertha (42).

Bochum is in eleventh place by chance, having scored only nineteen goals in twenty games. Only Wolfsburg and Fürth are worse off.

Given Bochum’s unproductive record, I think Hertha will win at home.
