Newcastle have shown great interest in Eden Hazard! Real Madrid have set his price. What about Lacazette?
Eden Hazard or Alexandre Lacazette? For now, neither. Although Newcastle’s management are trying to bring in more status, even given their current positioning, they are not doing as well as they expected. So how are they currently doing in the January transfer window?
Eden Hazard or Alexandre Lacazette? For now, neither. Although Newcastle’s management are trying to bring in more status, even given their current positioning, they are not doing as well as they expected. So how are they currently doing in the January transfer window?
The most successful move so far in this January transfer window for the English side is the transfer of Kieran Trippier from Atlético Madrid. He came to Newcastle for £12 million, but he is not the most expensive January signing.
That is Chris Wood, who cost the Magpies twenty-five million pounds. The thirty-year-old New Zealander signed a contract with the English club until 30 June 2024, and Trippier is also under contract at Newcastle until the same year.
The club’s management also has an ongoing interest in the services of striker Alexandre Lacazette. However, according to the latest information, the French midfielder has turned down the offer to play for Newcastle. A transfer to a team currently fighting for relegation is said to be not in his interest at the moment.
According to Italian website TMW, the Magpies were supposed to come up with an offer of a 3.5-year contract, with Lacazette earning around 8 million per season annually.
Spanish site El Nacional, on the other hand, came up with the news that Newcastle are also very interested in Real Madrid midfielder Eden Hazard. Meanwhile, the bid for the Belgian international was reported to be in the region of £33 million.
However, the representatives of the royal club sent a clear answer to England. Thirty-one-year-old Hazard will not be sold by Real for less than 50 million euros, or £42 million.
They want to minimize the potential loss, because the Madrid club paid a hefty sum – 115 million euros – to sign Hazard! Moreover, the player himself noted that if he were to actually move from Spain, his preferred option is to return to Chelsea. He is therefore reportedly not interested in moving to Newcastle.
So will the Magpies succeed in bringing in at least one of the pair? We will find out the answer to that question in the coming days or weeks.
