Arsenal and Adidas set to fight crime in London

Aninitiative between Arsenal London and the Adidas brand has resulted in a project called No More Red, which will try to support the English community to keep young people safe from crime and violence.

Between June 2020 and June 2021, more than 10,000 knife crimes took place in London. Last year also saw the highest number of youth homicides, with the majority of previous attacks involving knife attacks.

The No More Red project will build on Arsenal’s communication with young people living in the English capital. It will also provide safer and more positive spaces for young individuals and look out for talented people who are trying to create positive change in the community.

Adidas is going to support and contribute financially to the event. So far, the plan is to create several safe spaces to play football. A mentoring scheme will be set up to match celebrities with young people who join the project.

Celebrities set to join the No More Red project include Ian Wright, Arsenal legend, DJ Emerald Rose Lewis and actor Idris Elba.

Arsenal is going to regularly contribute role models, training and lending space in this program so that young and talented people can be free to excel and no one can threaten them.

Even though Arsenal’s main colour is red, the project is called No More Red. With this name and slogan, it opposes unnecessary bloodshed.

Ian Wright commented on the project: ”Every young person deserves the opportunity to express themselves. The chance to exist in a safe environment and live without fear of violence. The loss of life due to youth violence can never be accepted as normal in our city and it is so important that we all work together to create a better environment for young people

Arsenal will also support the project in the FA Cup match. The Canaries will wear all-white jerseys against Nottingham. After the match, the jerseys will be donated to the company working on the project.
