Rakic accused Adesanya of being the reason why Prochazka is going for the title and not him. Why?
It’s more than likely that Jiri Prochazka will fight for a title in the UFC. However, that doesn’t sit well with Austria’s Aleksandar Rakic, who could have fought for the title earlier, but in the end everything turned out differently than he had hoped.
It’s more than likely that Jiri Prochazka will fight for a title in the UFC. But that doesn’t sit well with Austrian Alexander Rakic, who could have fought for the title earlier, but in the end everything turned out differently than he had hoped.
Aleksandar Rakic thought that he was the first in line and would be the next challenger to the UFC organization’s welterweight champion.
But that didn’t happen and he was outpointed by Jiri Prochazka, which the Austrian doesn’t like at all and verbally attacks the Czech everywhere he gets the chance.
This time, however, he explained who is actually to blame for Procházka overtaking him. Surprisingly, the favourite Czech fighter is not the culprit in his opinion.
“I think the biggest mess here was made by Israel Adesanya when he jumped everyone and got the opportunity to fight Blachowicz, even though it was already certain that Teixeira was the next challenger. The welterweight division was stopped because of that.
If Jan had fought Glover that March, I could have faced the winner right away in October. But instead, Prochazka stepped in and now I have another non-title fight scheduled,” Rakic said on the Michael Bisping podcast.
Rakic already has a fight scheduled with Jan Blachowicz, who just lost his belt to Glover Teixeira. The winner of that fight can be expected to then face the winner of the title fight between Teixeira and Prochazka.
