Barcelona advert or Frenkie de Jong available for 90 million euros. Will Xavi’s alleged plan work out?
Xavi has a very difficult task at Barcelona, having been given a completely devastated team both sportingly and financially. However, according to Fichajes, he is going to sell some of his top players in order to replenish the team appropriately. And Frenkie de Jong is the ideal candidate.

The Dutch midfielder is without a doubt one of Barcelona’s best players this season. However, it is true that it is not difficult to be one at the moment. Nevertheless, De Jong was definitely a great buy, considering several more expensive investments in players who are no longer even active or practically not playing at Camp Nou.
Moreover, the 24-year-old midfielder has virtually no weakness and even in Barcelona itself he is very comfortable with his wife. Even his father has confirmed that he is doing everything he can to become an indispensable part of the team and he certainly has no plans of going anywhere.
It’s just that there are no guarantees in football and the situation at the Catalan club is really not good. So Xavi now has a choice to make, whether to keep one of the best players in his position or to monetise him and bring in at least two great players in his place.
Moreover, the fact that there are currently two top midfielders at Camp Nou, namely Gavi (17 years old) and Pedri (19 years old), whom Xavi admires and intends to build a future successful team on, does not play into De Jong’s hands.
In this regard, perhaps no one can disagree with the former outstanding midfielder, who else has a greater feel for the midfield than him?
Barcelona will thus have to take one step back in order to take two forward, and it is possible that it is de Jong who will make up for it, for whom the Catalans could cash in around €90 million, which is reportedly the amount they are willing to let him go for.
There is certainly no danger of there being no interest in the Dutch midfielder. According to several foreign websites, Manchester United, Liverpool and Bayern Munich are very interested in him.
