Wow! Nate Diaz is preparing a spectacular comeback to face Dustin Poirier

Nate Diaz was set to sign a new contract with the UFC and could return to the cage as early as January. There has been a lot of talk about completing the trilogy with Conor McGregor, but Diaz himself has chosen a different opponent, but one that is no less intriguing.

Nate Diaz wanted to get in the cage back in December, it just didn’t work out. So he would like to make his return in January, February at the latest. It was widely expected that there would be a third fight with Conor McGregor, but it probably won’t happen.

Fans were supposed to see Diaz fight Dustin Poirier a few years ago, but it never happened. Now, however, nothing should stop the fight.

“When I lay back and think about possible fights, I don’t care about any of them. I can’t get excited for anything except a fight with Diaz. A fight with him would really interest me,” Poirier let slip recently.

And what did Diaz have to say about Poirier’s words? “I’m going to fight Poirier in January. It ‘s now or never,” he expressed. Although Poirier responded by saying that he’ll easily fight Diaz later this month, it’s just not possible.

After all, he has a failed title fight under his belt, when he was forced to tap out by Charles Oliveira in the third round via choke. Thanks to the fact that he didn’t suffer a serious injury in the fight, he could be back in action as early as January.

The new year, if all goes well, could offer a great spectacle right from the start. Besides, Conor McGregor and Charles Oliveira are still being arranged. The champion is willing to prefer a fight with the Irishman over a fight with Justin Gaethje.
