Although Erling Haaland is still a Borussia Dortmund player, it is not generally expected that he will be so next season. However, the club’s CEO believes that there is still a possibility. However, he admitted that Real Madrid are very interested in him.
Borussia Dortmund’s CEO spoke about the future of the club’s biggest star in an interview with German publication Bild.
“Wherever I go, everyone asks me about Haaland. The only thing I know for sure is that Real Madrid are very interested in him,” Hans-Joachim Watzke commented.
But he said he could name maybe 25 other teams. But their interest may not be the reason for the Norwegian sharpshooter’s departure.
They say Haaland can stay or leave. His future is still undecided. Watzke met with agent Mino Raiola a few days ago, and they reportedly had a friendly discussion, with another meeting expected in the coming weeks.
“I would like to be as proud of Erling one day as I am of Robert Lewandowski for winning the Champions League. Personally, I think he would have made do with staying in the Bundesliga a little longer. Raiola is a smart guy, he knows what he is doing,” added the Dortmund boss.
Besides Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also said to want the Norwegian sharpshooter.
