Sparta will play EKL in the spring, Jablonec is out. How did both teams do?
A very different mood must now prevail on Letná in Prague and in northern Bohemia. Both Sparta and Jablonec had the continuation of the European Cups in their hands in the spring, but only Pavel Vrba’s charges took their chance, so Petr Rada could remind his players of his storm again.

Sparta were the only Czech team able to play in the Europa League in the autumn, but they have to be content with operating one competition lower in the spring.
In their group, they only managed to finish third, with Rangers finishing second and Olympique Lyon in first place.
On Thursday, they played Brondby for the third position, beating them 2-0 at home in a match they could not lose. Sparta was more active on the offensive throughout the match and fully deserved the win.
Dávid Hancko scored a beautiful goal from a direct kick in the first half, and Adam Hložek scored at the beginning of the second half.
If there is something Sparta will regret, it is clearly the expulsion of Tomáš Wiesner, who received two yellow cards, one for unsportsmanlike conduct and the other for a foul.
As for Jablonec, they had to win in Cluj to finish second in their group in the Conference Europa League and extend their stay in Europe. But it didn’t happen and they leave Romania with a 0:2 defeat.
The northerners did not play a bad game, but were toothless offensively. They had more shooting attempts than their opponents, but only two of them went between the three posts, which is simply not enough.
Alkmaar and Randers are now out of the group.
