Xavi has one more game ahead of him as Barcelona coach, on Sunday his charges will visit Pamplona to face Osasuna. At the press conference, the Catalan legend let it be heard that the team is definitely not lacking in footballing qualities.
Last weekend, Barcelona failed to beat Betis, and on Wednesday they went to Munich for training, where they were taught a lesson by Bayern, who won 3-0.
On Sunday, the Catalans want to make amends, they would like to get three points in Pamplona. They will definitely go into the game as big favourites.
The still new Barcelona coach believes that his team definitely has great qualities. He sees the problem elsewhere than in football skills.
“It’s more of a psychological issue. The players have to believe in themselves, they have to believe they can be successful, which is my job. We encourage them and we try to give them courage,” Xavi was quoted as saying at a press conference.
According to him, Barcelona cannot play at 80 or 90 %, the Catalans simply have to strive for perfection, something he lacks in his team.
“We must have the courage to aim high, not low, Barcelona doesn’t do that. We have to understand the game and be brave. The team has the level to be competitive and win trophies. Against Bayern it just showed that we have lost our habits,” Xavi added.
Will Barcelona get the important three points or will we see a surprise?
