The favourite of the match was clear, but few people counted on a 7:0 debacle. Kevin De Bruyne scored a great goal to help them to a big win.
Manchester City scored another important win and it is certain that after the 17th round they will be on top of the Premier League table.
On Tuesday, Pep Guardiola’s charges inflicted a debacle on Leeds United, who still can’t build on a successful last season.
Phil Foden opened the scoring in the 8th minute, and five minutes later Jack Grealish scored. Kevin De Bruyne added his first goal in the 32nd minute. The 3-0 scoreline lasted until the 49th minute.
Riyad Mahrez, De Bruyne, John Stones and Nathan Aké scored in the second half.
And it was De Bruyne’s second goal that was the showpiece. The Belgian midfielder, who has been criticised for his performances this season, took a shot from mid-range and his bomb gave the opposition goalkeeper no chance.
De Bruyne has played 18 competitive games this season, scoring 5 goals and only 1 assist. Compared to previous seasons, this is a big difference. Fortunately, the Citizens can manage without his great numbers.
