It looks promising. The next fight of the Moravian fighter in the UFC should be a title fight. However, it is not yet clear when it should take place. Jiri Prochazka believes it will be in the spring. How is he working on himself now?

We’re still waiting for the UFC to officially announce how they will resolve the welterweight situation. However, it is widely expected that already former champion Jan Blachowicz will face Aleksandar Rakic, while Jiri Procházka will be the first challenger to new belt holder Glover Teixeira.

“It’s still at the same point. We’re negotiating a date and waiting for them to confirm it. It’s based on the UFC’s negotiations with Glover. I believe they also want to make it public ahead of time, that it will work out and we’ll go for the win in the spring,” Prochazka was quoted as saying in an interview with iDNES.

He and his coaching staff have even put together a schedule for the upcoming season. He wants to work on technique in December, and would like to go to camp in January and February. And that’s a really interesting schedule!

Now, Procházka has been in Norway trying to improve his ground skills. He was tested by Jack Hermansson, a great groundskeeper. The native of Hostěradice simply wants to take his land to another level. He is aware that this is where Teixeira could dominate.

The former Rizin champion believes that he cannot move to the next level if he is not better in all aspects. That’s also why he’s communicating with Henry Cejudo, who was a UFC champion in two weight classes, even winning gold in wrestling at the Olympics.

It is with Cejudo that Procházka is discussing a possible camp. He could also meet Jon Jones, who is considered by many to be the best wrestler in history.

The Moravian fighter is not taking his preparation lightly, on the contrary. He is doing his best to be as prepared as possible. So hopefully we will soon see confirmation of his title fight.
