Will they extend the contract or not? Zlatan Ibrahimovic is an integral part of AC Milan and it is said that he can hardly imagine ending his playing career anywhere else than at this club. What is he going to do to force the Rossoneri management to extend his contract?
Ibrahimovic has previously stated that AC Milan is simply his life. He doesn’t feel as comfortable at any other club as he does here. He says that, in short, it is his home.
However, in a recent interview he hinted that his main priority is to play. And if, in his words, the AC Milan management does not allow him to do so, he will look for a new engagement. But as it seems, the Swedish cannonballer is doing his best to get the club’s management to extend his current contract.
He only has a valid contract in Italy until June 30, 2022 and his market value is currently around four million euros, according to Transfermarkt website. Now he even plans to put pressure on the Milan management.
“I just want to play as long as possible. As long as I have the adrenaline in me, I’ll keep going,” Ibrahimovic told Rai Tre’s Che Tempo Che Fa, as quoted by Spanish daily AS.
“Every morning I wake up with pain, but I still have certain goals. You have to get used to it and convert that pain into positive energy,” the Swedish international explained.
“Let’s put pressure on Milan to extend my contract. I hope to stay in Milan forever. I still have goals that I can achieve. I want to win another scudetto,” Ibrahimovic concluded.
He has already won the scudetto once with the Milan giant, in the 2010/11 season. In total, he played 144 games in the red and black jersey, scoring 90 goals and adding 34 assists.
According to the latest speculations, the AC management should not have any major problems with signing a new contract. After all, the fans love him, plus the Malmö native still has a lot to offer.
