Is he crazy? Barella got nervous, punched Milito in the calf and was ejected
Nicolo Barella is a fantastic player who is being courted by even bigger clubs than his Inter Milan. But he will have to tame his Italian temperament a lot, which may even cost him a bigger transfer. Against Real Madrid, he had a nervous breakdown and was sent off.
Nicolo Barella is a fantastic player who is being courted by even bigger clubs than his Inter Milan. But he will have to tame his Italian temperament a lot, which may even cost him a bigger transfer. Against Real Madrid, he had a nervous breakdown and was sent off.
Inter went to the Santiago Bernabéu knowing they had to win to advance to the Champions League semi-finals from first place. So he started very briskly, but it didn’t result in a goal.
And in the 17th minute, Toni Kroos knocked Inter’s chances even further, with a beautiful left-footed shot to send Real Madrid into the lead.
In the second half, Nicolo Barella, otherwise a key player in Inter’s midfield and indeed in the entire Inter line-up, unnecessarily weakened his team. He did a great job at the Euros, where he helped lead Italy to gold medals, and many teams are interested in him, including Real Madrid.
But if it comes to that transfer, he certainly hasn’t made any friends in Madrid. In the 64th minute, he suffered a nervous breakdown and had to take an early shower.
He was in a duel with Milito, but the Brazilian stopper clearly outmuscled him and pushed him away with a clean tackle. But the duel was close to the line and Barella hit the advertising banner.
The Italian midfielder didn’t like that very much and as he was getting up off the ground, Militaa absolutely incomprehensibly and unnecessarily struck his fist into his calf.
Militao, of course, didn’t take kindly to that and immediately took the blame on Barella. A big melee broke out on the pitch and the main referee Felix Brych then, after a brief consultation with VAR, awarded Barella a well-deserved red card, while Militao was shown a yellow card for his reaction.
