Are Messi, Neymar and Mbappé making fun of Pochettino? Experts shake their heads in disbelief at their lack of interest in defending
Football is a team game and so far no one has been able to change that! Even Lionel Messi would be nothing without Xavi, Iniesta and others, which is now being confirmed at PSG. Their complete disregard for the rest of the team is a painful sight for many football experts who pity Mauricio Pochettino.

Coaching a team full of stars is not easy. Many coaches have found this out, especially at Real Madrid. This is also why Zinedine Zidane, who has a natural respect and can get his players to get along, has undoubtedly succeeded in the Spanish club.
Pochettino, however, is clearly not getting it right at PSG and what MNM’s attacking trio did against Manchester City was too much!
Rio Ferdinand, in particular, put it very nicely in the BT Sport studios, breaking down the actions of PSG’s star trio in electronic pencil.
“I’ve never played a game in my life where I’ve seen anything like this. If PSG and Pochettino want to win the Champions League this season, they must immediately address the involvement of Messi, Neymar and Mbappé in defence.”
The photo beautifully captures the trio looking out from the centre circle at the rest of the team, who have to defend against one of the best performing teams in the world.
Mbappé, Neymar and Messi are amazing footballers and they showed many great pieces of football against Manchester City on Wednesday, but if they want to win trophies even against the best teams in Europe, this is certainly not how they will achieve it.
Of course, they can afford to do that in Ligue 1 when they are qualitatively somewhere else than other French teams. However, the game against Manchester City clearly showed them how naive they are in the Champions League.
That being said, leading a team like this is not easy and it is questionable whether Pochettino, who may already see one foot at Old Trafford, can even manage it.
However, the Parisian side have the qualification to the spring play-offs in their pocket, as they currently have a four-point lead over 3rd placed RB Leipzig. Of course, next year, with a similar away game, they could end up in the eighth round.
