There must be very conflicting feelings in the PSG cabin right now. The team full of stars managed to win on Sunday at Saint-Étienne, but unfortunately it cost them. Neymar was injured.
PSG’s match at Saint-Étienne did not go as expected. Firstly, Neymar’s goal was disallowed and the last Ligue 1 team took the lead, which they held until the end of the first half.
The turnaround to 3-1 was led by Lionel Messi, who scored three assists. He scored all of his team’s goals. First he sent the ball to Marquinhos’ head, then he got free and found Angel Di María beautifully, and finally he found Marquinhos’ head again.
However, the joy of turning the match around was spoiled by one unpleasant thing. Neymar was badly injured a few minutes before the end of the match. He was substituted in the 88th minute and left the pitch on a stretcher.
Neymar misstepped and injured his ankle. Judging by his condition on the pitch, it doesn’t look good at all. A longer break of a few months is not out of the question.
But it is still not clear how he is. He will need to undergo an examination.
For PSG, Neymar’s long-term absence would be a big blow. We can only hope it’s not as serious as it looks.
