The Champions League is back and fans can look forward to one big game in particular. Manchester City will host French side PSG on Wednesday. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?
Matches between two star teams can always be erratic. This is no different now that Manchester City will welcome PSG at home. It is worth mentioning that Pep Guardiola’s charges are, according to the bookmakers, a surprisingly big favourite.
But is it deserved? After all, in their last game together, the Parisian side won 2: 0, with Lionel Messi shining in the match and he will not be missing now either. Kylian Mbappé and Neymar will undoubtedly play alongside him.
None of PSG’s biggest stars are missing. But the Citizens are still missing Ferran Torres or Kevin De Bruyne.
However, the fact is that Manchester City is a tactically more advanced team, they can control the flow of the game and have no problem keeping the ball on the hoof. Qualitatively the teams are comparable, on paper PSG should be even stronger, however, in the last match the French team won only thanks to good productivity, the English team was better for the whole 90 minutes.
PSG has good and quick transitions to attack, plus they are now boosted by the brilliant brain of Messi who can make the difference. But otherwise everything plays in Citizens’ favour, including the home environment.
The high odds for PSG to win might be tempting, but they are too risky and might not work at all. It is definitely worth a bet on goals.
Although both teams are offensively based, in the last five duels between them, only once have more than 3 goals fallen. The aforementioned 3 goals have only been scored once. A shootout is probably not to be expected now either. Only in two matches have both teams been successful.
