Attila Végh will box in December! Rapper Rytmus to challenge Slovak MMA star
Karolina Pliskova scored her first win at this year’s Champions Tournament after a big drama. In a thrilling match, she defeated Spain’s Garbiñe Muguruza 2-1 in sets, with the deciding set going to a tie break.
Slovakia will be alive at the end of the year. Not only can the local combat sports fans look forward to Samuel Krištofič’s title fight, but three days before that Attila Végh, Gábor Boráros and rapper Rytmus will be in the boxing ring.
Already on 27 December, Slovak combat sports fans can look forward to an interesting gala evening full of boxing matches under the Fight Night Challenge banner.
The biggest draw will undoubtedly be the sporting return of the winner of the Fight of the Century. Attila Végh will take the ring against Emanuel Newton. The two former Bellator champions will face each other.
“I’ve been doing combat sports all my life and dreamed of trying the boxing ring. We addressed it two years ago, but the pandemic came. Now I’ve got a chance to fight an equal opponent who I’ve already had two fights with. In December we will decide who is better,” Végh said.
Rapper Rytmus, who last fought at the O2 Arena against Marpo, whom he lost to, will also be in the tournament. Now he faces a much tougher nut to crack. His opponent will be Octagon star Gábor Boráros.
“I’m going in because I crave uncomfortable challenges. It reminds me of where I’m from. I’m still training, going in the ring is the best feeling. I want to show the fans what is possible to do after 40 and how you can go beyond your limits,” expressed the Slovak musician.
Fans can look forward to the following fights at FNC:
Attila Végh vs. Emanuel Newton
Patrik “Rytmus” Vrbovsky vs. Gábor Boráros
Moloch vs. Laky Royal
Chis T vs. Frayer Flexking
Jakub Gazdík vs. Denis Farkas
Michal Plesnik vs. Erik Tlkanec
