Germany travelled to Macedonia ready to make up for their last hesitation against this opponent. Last time they lost sensationally against Macedonia 1: 2. However, the selection of Hans Flick, the manager of the German national team, did not allow any surprises this time.
Germany wanted to advance to the World Cup. In the first half, they established an advantage, but no goal came. The crowd didn’t see one until the beginning of the second. Kai Havertz gave the German fans their first cheer in the 50th minute.
Then Timo Werner, a striker who plays for Chelsea in London, scored twice. He scored in the 70th and 73rd minutes. His second goal was really good. He took a beautiful shot to the far post, the goalkeeper had no chance.
Before the end of the game, the young Jamal Musiala had another goal. Germany completed the 4-0 win and can enjoy the World Cup. On the other hand, Macedonia will be sad because they finished third in the group, one point behind second-placed Romania.
