Leeds vs. Watford: Preview and betting tips
Leeds are at home to Watford on Saturday. Before the season, few would have expected the newcomer to the Premier League to go into the game better from a table perspective, but Leeds have not been doing well at all so far.
More was expected from Leeds at the start of the new season. After last year’s assault on the cup ranks, they have not won this year and are eighteenth in the table with three points from three draws (only a point behind Newcastle).
Watford, on the other hand, cannot complain. In the opening six rounds, it has won twice and drawn once and is in a nice twelfth place in the table. However, it is only one point behind the fifteenth place.
The Yorkshire side rely on Brazilian Raphinha, who has scored three of Leeds’ six league goals. Meanwhile, Patrick Bamford, who was excellent last season, remains behind expectations, while Jack Harrison is also failing.
Like last year and the year before, Watford are being dragged down by Senegalese Ismaila Sarr, he has already managed to score four times. The summer signing Emanuel Dennis is also performing well, with three Premier League goals so far (2+1).
Leeds have been plagued by a leaky defence, scoring at least twice in two of their last three games.
Watford, on the other hand, are not scoring regularly on their opponents’ pitches, having scored away in only one of their three league fixtures.
Considering the offensive quality of Leeds and Watford’s away performances, I think the home side will win.
