Comment: further proof of Solskjaer’s incompetence. Aston Villa must be overthrown at Old Trafford!
Saturday’s match between Manchester United and Aston Villa should have been about the “obligatory” three points, but instead Dean Smith’s men took the victory from Old Trafford. How did the game go?

The inability to press the opposition
People talk about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tactical incompetence all the time, as he can’t come up with any major tactics that would allow the Red Devils to lock the opposition in front of their own penalty area for at least a few minutes and make it clear who is the boss on the pitch.
With the quality at the Norwegian coach’s disposal, that should be a given, at least for a few minutes! Unfortunately, it isn’t and Manchester United are losing points that they certainly can’t afford to lose.
This makes Solskjaer’s statement last week, when he let it be known that his team can’t attack to the full, all the more sad. Yes, we all know that they are great at quick counter attacks, but a team that wants to win the title has to beat weaker teams!
The game is on
The fact that Manchester United don’t have much respect in their home environment is evident from the fact that the first half of the game was played with quite open football, which brought a number of chances that were thrown away by the strikers on both sides.
On the home side it was mainly Mason Greenwood who opted for a shot instead of a pass in most cases. You certainly can’t fault him, he was active, but with a bit more vision United could have scored at least two goals.
In total, the Red Devils had 28 shots on goal, any chances? Those were wasted by the aforementioned Greenwood. The away team only shot 7 times, but I think they had more chances.
Goalkeepers of the difference
While David de Gea was back to his old form, performing like a young bunny, Emiliano Martínez was one of the key players that helped Aston Villa take home the three points.
First he tried to unsettle Bruno Fernandes in this way and then he danced unsportingly in front of the fans. Together with the author of the only goal (Kortney House), without a doubt the best players on the pitch.
The problem with Solskjaer
If you don’t count the two hilarious games against Leeds United and Newcastle, in the other 6 games United weren’t the better team, which is a crying shame when you look at the roster. United’s play has no face and one win from the last 4 games is really not enough for such a team.
Unfortunately, Manchester United has no chance of winning any title…
