The biggest favourites to win the Champions League? Four English teams in the top six, no one trusts the Spanish giants
This Tuesday will be the start of the next edition of the Champions League, which was last dominated by English teams, and it is very likely that we will see a similar scenario next year, as among the top 6 favourites for the championship are 4 teams from the Islands.
This Tuesday will be the start of the next edition of the Champions League, which was last dominated by English teams, and it is very likely that we will see a similar scenario next year, as among the top 6 favourites for the championship are 4 teams from the Islands.
The top ten is rounded off by Juventus, who, however, are not looking good at all from the edge of the season. From the first three games, the Old Lady could only get a point for the draw with Udinese and are currently 16th.
One can certainly count on Massimiliano Allegri and co. to improve their results sooner or later, but so far it doesn’t look like a great success!
Of the Spanish teams, Real Madrid are then the most trusted, but right behind them are their two biggest rivals Barcelona and Atlético Madrid with the same probability of winning.
Not much is expected from the Spanish teams, but that may be their advantage, as they can only surprise. However, the quality of the other top teams should be known!
In the imaginary 5th and 6th positions, Liverpool and Manchester United are equally likely to win the current Champions League. Two teams from which more is expected this season than in the previous one.
Chelsea and Bayern Munich are also highly trusted, and the good start of the season confirms the high ambitions of both teams, led by two excellent German coaches, whose confrontation with each other would undoubtedly be very interesting, perhaps we will even see it.
Another season for Pep Guardiola in which he will try to reach the top in the Champions League. He came so close this year, but again, nothing. And even now they are not the biggest favourites to win the title.
However, it will be a lot harder this season, because especially their opponents in the Premier League have strengthened a lot compared to last season and the league battle will definitely take away a lot of their strength, which could be missing just in the tough battles in the millionaire competition.
The biggest favourite for the overall victory is the strengthened Parisian side, who will rely on the attacking trio of Neymar, Mbappé and Messi. However, PSG have a number of other great and, above all, experienced players.
Unlike Manchester City, their league rivals are weakened and the road to the league championship will probably be very easy. If they don’t suffer in the spring what they have in many previous years, when the lack of tough league games at the end of the season when they had nothing to lose, they might succeed this time!
