Ronaldo gave a motivational speech before his Manchester debut. What did he say to his teammates?
Manchester United knew full well why they were buying Cristiano Ronaldo. Not only will he help the team with his performances on the pitch, he will also have a huge impact on the behaviour and mentality of the younger players. Sancho and co. recognised this right before the Newcastle game.

What makes Cristiano Ronaldo the best goalscorer in history? How is it possible that at 36 he is still at the peak of his physical powers? It’s all down to his winning mentality. Ronaldo hates defeats, he is always hungry for success, nothing is impossible for him.
He will now try to transfer the same mindset to his teammates at Manchester United. The Red Devils have gone quite a few years without a major trophy, something the Portuguese is not used to at all.
Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said that Ronaldo gave a motivational speech before the Newcastle game, but he will not make it public.
However, a source gave the Sun the full text of the speech. “Ronaldo’s speech was very powerful and motivating. All the players and the management team didn’t move a muscle and just listened,” the English daily said. Ronaldo told his teammates:
“I came back to Manchester United for two reasons. The first is that I love this club. The second is that I love the winning mentality that is ingrained in this club.
I didn’t come back to be a cheerleader. If you want to succeed, you have to love this club with all your heart. You have to eat, sleep and fight for this club. Whether you play or not, you have to support your teammates and always give 100% to the club.
I’m here to win, nothing else. Winning brings us joy. I want to be happy, do you want to be happy?
You’re all amazing players and I believe in all of you, otherwise I wouldn’t be back here. The fans will support you when you give your best. I just want to create a winning mentality once I’m done, so that when I’m done, you’re here to stay and you’re going to rule football like we’ve done here in the past.
I’ll give my best for the team, but I need your support too. Are you ready to fight? Are you ready to leave everything on the pitch?”
After that speech, Ronaldo received a big applause from his teammates and coaches. The motivation obviously worked, Manchester then beat Newcastle 4-1, the Portuguese scoring twice.
On Tuesday, the Red Devils take on Young Boys Bern in the Champions League. Will Ronaldo score again?
