The Czech U21 national football team won its second qualifying match for the Euro by beating Albania 4:0. These mandatory points will certainly be needed when the bread is about to be broken, as coach Suchopárek’s selection has a really tough opponent in the group, namely England.
Czech U21 managed after a difficult duel with Slovenia, which they won only in the end after Martin Vitik’s goal, also the match with Albania.
Coach Jan Suchopárek’s team beat them 4:0, with goals from Tomáš Ostrák, Daniel Fila, Kryštof Daněk and Pavel Šulc.
“I evaluate the match positively, although we could have won by a bigger goal difference. We fulfilled what we wanted. Thevisiting goalkeeper helped us at the beginning, but on the other hand the players fulfilled it by finishing all the situations and rewarded themselves for it,” said the Czech coach at the press conference.
The match was decided after half an hour of play as Olomouc’s Danek scored the third goal. The players were able to enjoy the match.
“It’s always better to decide early. After two quick goals, the opponent limited their activity. But there were some passages when they showed that they have good footballers. But I think we were able to eliminate them in every way and did not let them into any serious situation,” he added.
“I am happy that the players who did not give the expected performance in the first game played better this time and scored a goal. I don’t want to say that I don’t care who scores the goals, but I think the team is pulling together and the players want each other to do well. I like that,” Suchopárek finished.
