“We received positive reactions from all the presiding countries after the idea of a Conference League, especially because of the money, which is almost on a par with the Europa League,” UEFA president Aleksandr Cheferin said at the start of the draw.
The Conference League will have eight groups of four teams, and teams from the same country cannot be in the same group, nor can teams from Azerbaijan and Armenia for political reasons.
The conference league will be played on Thursdays like the European league. Slavia was in the first performance basket, Jablonec in the third.
Slavia is facing a very difficult group. They will face Feyenoord, Union Berlin and Maccabi Haifa.
Jablonec will play Alkmaar, Cluj and Randers.
