Kudel returns after being pulled over for unproven racism. What did he say in the interview?

On Thursday, Slavia will play a key match of the season, playing Legia for the Europa League group. Midfielder Ondřej Kúdela may take part in the match after a ten-match suspension for alleged racism.

For Kúdela, the match against Legia Warsaw could be his first start in the cups in five months. That’s how long he served a ten-match sentence for alleged racism.

“I have to say I’m really looking forward to it. If I get the confidence, I will be happy for it and I will try to repay in the best possible way. I believe we can do it.”

If the Susians want to advance, they have to win in Poland. Thanks to the abolition of the goal rule on the opponent’s pitch, any draw will be enough to see them through to extra time.

“We wanted to win, but unfortunately we didn’t manage to do that. But at least we didn’t lose, which is important. Plus, the away goals rule has been abolished now, they don’t count as two anymore. So it’s all the better.”

Slávists enjoyed the three European matches thanks to the atmosphere in the stands. Both in Prague and Hungary the atmosphere was boisterous.

“It’s good that people are finally coming, that it’s finally loosened up. It’s better than an empty stadium. We’ll see what the atmosphere is like.”

Legia, however, will miss one part of the stadium because of pyrotechnics at their last home cup match. But the cauldron is to be moved elsewhere, so the Polish champion will not lose support.

“I assume it will be full except for the cauldron. I believe it will be a really nice atmosphere and we will deal with it. Good for us,” concluded Kúdela.
