Arsenal a joke? Even the fixture list is laughing at him, he’s got two extremely tough games coming up

Being an Arsenal fan? That’s been a no-brainer for a few years now. This was confirmed by the opening game of the new Premier League season, in which the Gunners fell to newcomer Brentford. Mikel Arteta’s charges immediately became the butt of jokes.

Not so long ago, no one could imagine the so-called Big Four without Arsenal. But now there is no big four, as the competition at the top has grown, and the Gunners are no longer seen as a threat.

In recent years, Arsenal have simply been a laughing stock for the fans. The club used to be a laughing stock for regularly finishing fourth, but what would they give for that now. The situation is even worse.

The London outfit have their work cut out for them to make any appearance at all in the European Cups. And should the new season be any different? It doesn’t look like it. Compared to its rivals, Arsenal hasn’t strengthened too much, and that was evident in the first round.

It seemed that the Gunners couldn’t have asked for a better draw to start the season. After all, they started on the ground of a newcomer in the Premier League, but Brentford won 2: 0 and Arsenal fans could start to feel ashamed again.

Some individuals have even noticed that Arsenal’s fixture list itself is already being laughed at, with the club now facing home and away games on the bench.

And that the fans should somehow be encouraged by the schedule when they check off “HAHAHA” in the right-hand column? Not exactly. For in just a week’s time, Arsenal will host Chelsea, who have won the Champions League and now the UEFA Super Cup, immediately after which they will take on the reigning champions.

It seems, therefore, that all eyes may be on the Tottenham match on 26 September. The Gunners will undoubtedly want to beat their hated rival. Even at the cost of not doing well in other games.
