Leipzig vs. Stuttgart: Preview and betting tips
Leipzig have an important game on Friday. Last year’s runners-up have a lot to make up for, as they fell to Mainz in the first round. They will now face Stuttgart, who shot themselves in the first round.
Leipzig have an important game on Friday. Last year’s runners-up have a lot to make up for, as they fell to Mainz in the first round. They will now face Stuttgart, who shot themselves in the first round.
Leipzig have not started the new league season well. They conceded a goal in the 12th minute at Mainz in the first round and, having no time to react, came away empty-handed.
Stuttgart enjoyed the first leg. Already at half-time it led Greuther Fürth 2:0, added three more goals after half-time and a 5:1 win over the newcomer put it at the top of the Bundesliga.
The visiting defence has to watch out for summer signing André Silva, who was the second top scorer in the competition last season. Other mainstays are Emil Forsberg and Marcel Sabitzer.
Two players in particular shone against Fürth. Marc-Oliver Kempf scored twice from his position as a stopper, while left wing-back Borna Sosa scored a hat-trick of assists when he netted three goals in the second half.
Leipzig are struggling shooting, having scored more than one goal only once in their last six games, and that was against second-tier Sandhausen.
Stuttgart, on the other hand, have scored five or more goals in three of their last four games, and on the other hand have played much weaker sides.
Despite Stuttgart’s good form, I think Leipzig will win the game. The main reason is the fact that the away coach will not have ten injured players at his disposal.
