Bořek Dočkal, captain and director of Sparta Prague, talks about Wednesday’s Champions League qualifying match. The creative midfielder is aware of the importance of the match.
Bořek Dočkal attended the pre-match press conference together with coach Pavel Vrba.
“More than anything else, I can feel the determination from the team. We are all aware of the importance of the match, we are looking forward to it. The nervousness may come before kick-off, but the current form will be decisive. I don’t feel that our young boys are suffering from nervousness. They can sell what they have on the pitch.”
Rapid’s second goal came after captain Bořek Dočkal lost the ball in his own half and Rapid went on a fast break, which ended with Knassmulner scoring after a centre.
Rapid have fast breaks and that’s what Dočkal responded to.
“I believe we can take more control of the rematch. We want to be more active, keep the ball and set the pace of the game. The important thing is how we behave after turnovers. We won’t avoid them, but it will be an important factor of the match how we react to it. We have to be quick about it and nip breaks in the bud.”
Dočkal registered two assists in the opening two games. Twice his center found Ladislav Krejci Jr.
Sparta needs to win by at least a goal to send the game to overtime. If they win by two goals, they advance.
