Barcelona’s richest footballer? Martin Braithwaite!
Four years ago he played in the English second division for Middlesborough. Now he’s kicking for one of the biggest football clubs in the world. He also recently helped Denmark to the semi-finals of Euro 2020. A very successful footballer, you could say, but he’s even more successful off the pitch!

Martin Braithwaite is not one of Barcelona’s highest paid players. According to The Sun, he earns “only” two and a half million Czech crowns a week, which puts him in 14th place at the Catalan club.
However, since Lionel Messi is currently out of the roster, Braithwaite is the richest Barcelona footballer. The renowned Forbes came up with the information.
The main reason is said to be the success in the American real estate market. In 2017, the Danish footballer is said to have invested $850,000 with his uncle in a business called NYCE Companies.
Within a year they acquired $10 million, now it is supposed to be even $250 million. According to Denmark’s BT, Braithwaite and his uncle own 1,500 apartments, with another 500 under construction.
“Martin’s role is very much about how we do in the areas of strategy and vision over the long term. So he’s involved in the leadership, but not in a way that takes him away from football,” clarifies his uncle Philip.
But it doesn’t stop there, as Braithwaite and his wife are also seeing success in the clothing industry. Their brand called “Trente” is particularly popular in France.
In Barcelona, they have already opened a restaurant – “Gave” – for a change.
