Alex King’s transfer in jeopardy? Failed performances could cost him a move to England
Both fans and Jaroslav Šilhavý, who is leaving Alex Kral out of the starting lineup, are noticing the unsuccessful performances. But the fading form of the versatile midfielder is also noticed at West Ham.

Before the Euros, there was a lot of talk about the interest of the Kladivars, who wanted to expand the Czech enclave with another player. But the Euro came, where the Spartak Moscow midfielder is not in optimal form and everything can be different!
In the opening game against Scotland, Alex Král started in the starting eleven and played 67 minutes, while in the games against Croatia and England he started on the substitutes’ bench and played 27 and 26 minutes.
In the games he came off the bench, he always tried to leave everything on the pitch and ran a lot. However, he was technically not good at it and messed up a lot! Maybe his nervousness is also playing a part in his performance. King knows full well the scrutiny he is under.
Against England, he was rated 5.93 by the prestigious WhoScored. His pass success rate was only 54.6%, he didn’t win a defensive duel and committed one foul. He let off one shot, but it flew high over the bar.
Let’s hope Alex King comes alive in the knockout stage of the tournament! We would need his old form against the Netherlands. He is a versatile, complex and modern player, but he is still only 23 years old and his head (mental toughness) is probably not yet at the level of ex-Slavs Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal.
