The Canadian-American Major League Soccer has had its sixth league round, and once again we have seen some interesting and beautiful goals. But if anyone really asked for attention, it was Italian footballer Federico Bernardeschi.
The former Fiorentina or Juventus player also has 39 starts for the Italian national team. He moved to Toronto, Canada last summer and immediately showed that overseas competition would suit him.
Last season alone, he managed to score 8 goals in 13 games, to which he also added 2 assists. After years of hardship at Juventus, the 29-year-old has made a proper recovery and is looking to continue that this season.
Toronto has brought in some interesting players since the summer. We can mention, for example, former Napoli captain and European champion Lorenzo Insigne. Even so, the start of this season hasn’t gone so well for the Canadian team.
After six rounds, Toronto has 7 points and has won only once. Even in their last game against Charlotte, they got a single point for a 2-2 draw. The aforementioned Bernardeschi scored a great goal.
He opened the scoring in the 6th minute by catching the opponent’s players off guard. He played a corner kick and instead of aiming at one of his teammates, he headed straight at the goal, where the ball actually arrived.
Bernardeschi has 3 goals and 2 assists in six games this season. He is building on last season’s great season, at least from an individual point of view.
