VIDEO: Killer since childhood! See how Erling Haaland excelled at the age of 14
Erling Haaland is probably the best point forward in the world right now. He’s been tearing up defences in the Premier League and has several records to his name. His talent was evident at an early age, with the Norwegian footballer actually outperforming his peers by quite a bit.
Erling Haaland is probably the best point forward in the world right now. He’s been tearing up defences in the Premier League and has several records to his name. His talent was visible at an early age, with the Norwegian footballer actually outperforming his peers by quite a bit.
Sometimes it is almost unbelievable that Erling Haaland was born in this century. On 21 July 2000, a little boy was born who later became one of the best strikers in the world.
He had the potential from birth, after all, he was born to Alf-Inge Haaland, a former professional footballer who played for Nottingham, Leeds United and Manchester City.
Haaland’s numbers are impressive. He has scored 28 goals in 26 league games, 10 goals in six Champions League duels, and has added four more in English cups. But it’s even more impressive in total.
The Norwegian hitman has 219 starts in professional football, scoring 177 goals.
At Dortmund, for example, he has a tally of 86 goals in 89 games, at Salzburg it’s 29 goals in 27 games, and at the Citizens, meanwhile, he holds 42 goals in 37 games. His average is marred by only 20 goals in 50 games at Molde and no goals in 16 starts for Bryne, but he was still very young.
This is a 22-year-old footballer still, yet he is already among the best in the world. But he had the potential to become one from a young age. At 14 years old, Haaland far outperformed his peers, as the following video proves.
The moment Haaland got on the radar of a few scouts and a lot of football fans came in May 2019. As an 18-year-old, he went to the U20 World Cup with Norway and things happened.
In fact, in a match against Honduras, Haaland netted 9 goals and helped the team to a 12-0 win. While it certainly wasn’t a tough opponent, scoring 9 goals in one game at the World Cup is an admirable feat.
