The Lions had a tough test at the March meeting before the summer European Championship. They faced Belgium and the Netherlands in friendly matches.
In the first match with Belgium they drew 0:0. Coach Jan Suchopárek made several changes against the Netherlands and rotated the line-up quite a bit.
The Czechs started actively and in the 14th minute Lukáš Červ got a shot off in the penalty area, but was fouled and the referee called a penalty.
Spartan Adam Karabec took the penalty. He headed his attempt into the middle of the goal and although Jasper Schendelaar jumped to the left post, he managed to clear the ball with his foot.
The Netherlands punished the missed penalty two minutes later. After a scramble in the penalty area, the ball was played to Milion Manhoef, who sent his team into the lead with a shot to the bar.
In the 31st minute, Joshua Zirkzee sent a great pass to the onrushing Dallinga, who went alone at the goalkeeper, but Vitek Jaroš made a great save to deny his chance.
A similar situation repeated itself in the 63rd minute. Salah-Eddin went alone from the middle of the field to the goal, but Jaroš again stood his opponent brilliantly and finally the young Dutchman directed it into his arms.
In the 77th minute, the Czech joy came. Červ won the ball for Šulc, who found Václav Sejk in the whitewash. The Jablonec striker hooked a defender and shot to the back post to equalise.
Just two minutes later, the score could have changed again. Šulc found Karabec with a pass in the small area, but his attempt was saved by Schendelaar.
In the 81st minute, the Czechs actually added a second goal when Šulc passed the ball to Koubek in front of an empty net, but the linesman speculatively ruled offside.
Nothing else happened, and the Czechs drew 1-1 with the Netherlands in the EURO dress rehearsal. The Czech Republic will challenge England, Germany and Israel at the June championship.
