We wrote about the negotiations for a new contract for the Portuguese winger with the AC management in a previous article.
However, in a nutshell, Ricky Massara and Paolo Maldini will be looking to resume contract extension talks during the national break. The player himself is reportedly interested in staying at the club.
However, if the Rossoneri fail to agree new terms with Leão, AC will want to sell him in the summer. The Almada native has a contract in Milan until the end of June next year, according to Transfermarkt website, his current market value is €80 million.
Moreover, there is no doubt that several offers would land on Leão’s table. One of them, in case of non-renewal of the contract, has already unofficially come from PSG.
Leão as Messi’s replacement?
The Parisian outfit is in fact considering possible alternatives if Lionel Messi does not extend at the club. The latter is in fact still being linked with a departure, the famous Argentine is reportedly not very happy in Paris and if he really leaves, it would probably surprise few.
In any case, Leão has an exit clause in his contract that amounts to 150 million euros. In fact, the AC management has previously declared that a potential suitor must prepare at least 100 million to even consider a transfer.
PSG advisor Luis Campos has stated that they will try to work on the transfer of the future superstar. It is Campos who believes that Leão is one of the future stars of European football.
The Almada native transferred to Milan in August 2019 from Lille for just under €30 million. He has since won one championship in the red and black jersey and has become a key figure for the Rossoneri. In 150 competitive games, he has scored 36 goals and added 31 assists.
