Petr Čech’s future in football? I’m studying for a coaching licence. It is one of the options I would like to pursue, he said

Last summer, Petr Cech quit his role as technical and sporting advisor at Chelsea. He terminated his contract with the club of his heart and since then the former national team mainstay has been without a contract. What kind of job would attract him and can we look forward to seeing him again in Czech football?
After the end of his rich career, Petr Cech decided to accept the offer of his beloved Chelsea, where he worked in the role of technical and sports department.
However, after Todd Boehly took over the club, big changes took place and Čech was mutually without an engagement. Moreover, he has been out of football since last summer.
“According to my contract at Chelsea, I can’t work in the same capacity at other clubs until June, so I took a year for myself, for my family. I’m studying for my coaching licence,” he told iDNES in an interview.
Čech is currently thinking about what would interest him in football. Because of his licence studies, it is possible that we will soon see him in the role of head coach.
“I enjoyed it before, but when I finished on the pitch, everything took a different direction. But now I’m getting back into coaching. It’s one of the things I want to do. We’ll see how I decide,” he added.
He has made our small country quite famous in the world, which is why many fans would be happy if he would help our football and get more involved. But at the moment, the former goalkeeper has no plans to do so.
“If I were to get involved in the Czech Republic, I would have to be here and I live permanently in England. At the moment the possibility is limited. But that doesn’t mean I’m not involved in Czech football.
I’m in contact with people from the association, I’m talking about education, different workshops, about the possibilities to use my experience,” he concluded.
So let’s be surprised where the Czech will head next. The most likely option in the coming months seems to be a job as an assistant coach with one of the youth teams.
