Salah has broken Robbie Fowler’s goalscoring record! Watch his shot into the Manchester United net
There was little doubt that goals would be scored in Liverpool’s match against Manchester United, given the past matches. However, it was not predicted that only David de Gea would be pulling the ball out of the net. In the end, the Reds players were happy seven times.
There was little doubt that goals would be scored in Liverpool’s match against Manchester United, given the past matches. However, it was not predicted that only David de Gea would be pulling the ball out of the net. In the end, the Reds players were happy seven times.
As expected, Liverpool were the more active team, as evidenced by the percentage of ball possession (61.6%) until the first goal. However, Manchester United was more dangerous and with a bit of luck it was the players of the visiting team who could celebrate.
In the end, however, Liverpool did get a goal out of their activity when Cody Gakpo scored and it was 1:0. Until then, the game was still playable for the Red Devils.
However, as if coach Erik ten Hag’s charges had left their heads in the booth, which certainly doesn’t pay off at Anfield, the Reds players were already peppering them with one goal after another.
The fourth, or sixth, notch on the arm was then made by Mohamed Salah, who can now boast his 129th league goal in a Liverpool jersey.
He thus surpassed Robbie Fowler’s previous record, which he was one goal behind until today’s game.
In the end, Liverpool won 7:0, with all three strikers – Gakpo, Núñez and Salah – scoring twice, as well as new signing Roberto Firmino.
This big win puts Liverpool in 5th place with 4. Tottenham are just 3 points behind. However, they have a game in hand.
In the next round, the Reds will visit Bournemouth and then the real hell awaits them, when they will first play a rematch with Real Madrid and then duels with Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.
