Ranking of the twelve most valuable footballers of today
The ranking of the world’s most valuable footballers has seen a significant change in recent months, with the leading positions occupied exclusively by young players. But one thing hasn’t changed. Kylian Mbappé still leads the list by a narrow margin over Erling Haaland.
The ranking of the world’s most valuable footballers has seen a significant change in recent months, with the leading positions occupied exclusively by young players. But one thing hasn’t changed. Kylian Mbappé still leads the list by a narrow margin over Erling Haaland.
1. kylian Mbappé (€180 million)
Kylian Mbappé tops the rankings and one can’t be too surprised. The young striker is a mainstay of PSG and the French national team, and he has been proving that for a long time. His recent shooting duel with Lionel Messi in the World Cup final was admirable. And even though France failed, Mbappé at least dominated the top scorer statistics.
Mbappé is still 24 years old. The fast-footed striker is in demand virtually all over the world, but a potential suitor will have to dig deep into his pockets to buy him. Mbappé’s value is estimated at 180 million euros.
2. place – Erling Haaland (€170m)
Following close behind in second place is Erling Haaland, whose value is estimated at €170 million. Haaland is a typical spike striker with a great finish. His productivity is truly admirable, he has already managed to score 26 goals in the current Premier League season and his Manchester side have only played 23 rounds so far.
3. place – Vinicius Junior (€120m)
Twenty-two-year-old Vinicius is the workhorse of Real Madrid’s offensive ranks. And with Karim Benzema injured, he is all the more important to the team. The Brazilian striker draws on his high speed as well as ample creativity. He is currently valued at 120 million euros on the market.
4. – 5th place – Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden (€110m)
The fourth spot is shared by two English youngsters, Bellingham and Foden. Bellingham decided to go abroad, so at the age of 16 he tried his luck by transferring to Borussia Dortmund. There he worked his way up to the position of a key first team player.
Foden, on the other hand, is an offspring of Manchester City, where he still plays today. He came through the youth categories there and despite interest from several clubs, he believed in a chance to break into the first team. The skilful England international still has a lot ahead of him at the age of twenty-two.
6. – 9th – Pedri, Jamal Musiala, Bukayo Saka, Federico Valverde (€100m)
Four players have an estimated market value rounded to €100 million. The youngest of them is 19-year-old Jamal Musiala, who currently plays for Bayern Munich. Only a year older is Barcelona’s Pedri. This Spanish central midfielder is tireless, it is incredible the amount of minutes his young body can handle, even considering the cup and national team matches.
Also in a tie for sixth place is Bukayo Saka, who is currently helping Arsenal maintain their lead in the Premier League table. The last of this quartet of players is twenty-four-year-old Federico Valverde of Real Madrid.
10 – 12th – Gavi, Aurélien Tchouameni, Harry Kane (€90m)
In a split tenth place we have three players. At 18 years old, Gavi is the youngest player on this list. On the other hand, the oldest player is also in the tenth place, twenty-nine year old Harry Kane. Real Madrid’s Aurélien Tchouameni rounds out the top twelve.
