Neymar carried off the field on a stretcher. Is it poor recovery or PSG’s hectic schedule?
PSG players finally tasted the feeling of victory after three losses in a row. But the win has a bitter taste for the club in the form of an injury to star Neymar.

PSG’s victory has a bitter aftertaste
A choke or a big piece of luck? Coach Christophe Galtier and the PSG players escaped another blunder thanks to the genius of their stars. As a team, they failed again, but their individuality had its day. Except one.
Three defeats in a row and a wobbly chair under coach Galtier. He’s already been replaced by Zidane, Tuchel or even Mourinho in the French media this week. And his situation could be even more complicated after the next league round.
In the end, the individual moments of PSG’s star trio in attack saved their coach and the loss in front of their own fans. Two goals from top star Kylian Mbappé and a Lionel Messi free-kick in stoppage time ended the home team’s misery with a wild 4-3 scoreline.
Neymar was carried off on a stretcher and will miss the Bayern rematch
Neymar, who has been criticised in recent days, scored once. But the star striker had to be taken off on a stretcher shortly after the change of sides due to a horrific looking ankle injury, which certainly scared the club’s management.
Questions naturally surface as to whether the player’s poor recovery was partly to blame for the injury. The Brazilian has often been criticised precisely for his non-football related activities.
Galtier sees the blame in a demanding schedule
However, Christophe Galtier, coach of the Parisian side, sees the cause of his players’ injuries in the demanding programme of the big clubs. “There are always reasons for injuries, a demanding schedule, the order of matches. It’s just bad luck,” Galtier told KeepUp.
“Although it complicates our situation, we have to put our heads down and accept everything as it is. Fortunately, we responded with a win,” he sighed after the happy ending to a crazy match. “We are currently undergoing examinations,” he added of his Brazilian star’s injury.
The next few days will tell how serious the injury is. His absence in the attack would be a serious problem for the star coach ahead of the upcoming Champions League eight-final rematch. In the latter, they will face Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on March 8 to qualify for the next knockout stage.
