Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, before the season this name was known only to fans of the Russian and Georgian leagues. But the discovery of Naples is not idle and is having the season of his life. The agent is already counting the offers, which are countless.
Kvaratskhelia started as a teenager in Georgian Dinamo Tbilisi, then played for Rustavi. He spent the next three and a half seasons in Russia, playing for Lokomotiv Moscow and Kazan.
After Russia’s occupation of Ukraine, he returned to Georgia last spring, scoring eight goals in 11 games and adding two assists for Dinamo Batumi.
Napoli took notice of his great talent and bought the 22-year-old from Georgia. And it was a hit. The speedy dribbler has been hugely responsible for Napoli’s sensational run, leading Serie A and winning the Champions League groups ahead of Liverpool.
Kvaratskhelia, nicknamed “Kvaradonu” by Napoli fans, has accumulated an amazing record of 9+9 in 18 league games. He is the league’s fourth top scorer and top assist man. He added 2+3 in five Champions League games.
It’s no wonder that even bigger teams are already asking about Kvaratskhelia. “There is a lot of interest in him, but at the moment only Napoli are interested. He loves the club and the city, he won’t leave for any other Italian club,” the player’s agent promised the fans in an interview with CalcioNapoli24.
In an interview with the daily MARCA, he then declassified the name of one club interested in Kvaratskhelia. “Yes, I can confirm that Real Madrid are interested in him, as well as several other clubs,” says the Georgian’s manager.
Kvaratskhelia will have the opportunity to increase his price next week. Napoli will face Frankfurt in the Champions League semi-finals and are quite big favourites to qualify.
