20. premier League round: One of the busiest of the season, three duels between teams from the Top 8

While last weekend only cup games were played in England, this weekend the Premier League is already in full swing. The Everton vs. Southampton rescue match deserves a brief mention, but it is lagging behind in the packed competition of the showpiece matches.

While last weekend only cup games were played in England, this weekend the Premier League will be in full swing. The Everton vs. Southampton rescue match deserves a brief mention, but it is lagging behind in the packed competition of the showpiece matches.

Manchester United vs. Manchester City

The showpiece of Saturday’s programme will be the Manchester derby. While it was a clear-cut affair at the start of the season, now the odds are much more even. The Red Devils haven’t lost five games since Christmas and are the only English club still in all four competitions.

On the other hand, the Citizens stumbled against Everton and Southampton and are not at their level. The Old Trafford side will be relying on a rampant Marcus Rashford, but the Citizens cannot afford another loss.

Tottenham vs. Arsenal

Tottenham’s London derby with Arsenal will be the main show on Sunday. The Gunners clinched the game in the autumn and will be favourites now, but they play away. And they are not good at Spurs’ stand for a long time.

On the other hand, Spurs’ defense is on fire, which is water on the mill for the fast and dynamic Arsenal. Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah are already looking forward to Martin Odegaard sending balls past their defence. The Norwegian midfielder in particular will be the key to the result.

Brighton vs. Liverpool

Liverpool favourite? Not really. Eighth-placed Brighton have already beaten the Reds this season in a 3-3 draw, beating Manchester United and Chelsea among others. And most importantly, they are currently much fitter than their opponents. The last four games with a total score of 14::7 are proof of that.

Liverpool are not scoring enough goals, Darwin Nunez is the main problem in this respect. Moreover, he is scoring more and more, twice in a week against the worst attacking Wolves. It’s turning out to be a shootout, ideal for the impartial viewer.
